CNY
Chinese New Year(CNY) is just around the corner. 8 days away as I write this. Used to be the major event of the year for me especially during my schooling days. As I get older and all those "exciting-for-donno-what" feeling slowly fates away, I begin to see what CNY means in general. It means people would spend on things that they don't normally willing to, treat themselves better for its a once a year thingy. Allow to be charged extra for the hairdo and stuffs. Buy those almond cookies (or any kind of heaty cookies that would cause us soret hroat every year)for the price of RM22 per 100 tiny-pieces. New clothing, red mostly. Going to every house and being served more heaty cookies and mandarines(also the reason for our sore throat since they are heaty too). Rushes. Expensive food at the hawkers(once a year thingy). I missed those wonderful "Moon Travellers" and "Raja Kelawa", nowadays firecrackers cost hundreds(if not thousands) and they all "looks like the Merdeka Day one lah".
Basically its all about the money(how Chinese). For prosperity's sake, haha...
Thank God certain part of the excitement has finally fade away and I am able to be more of a spectator rather than the one in the ring. We should not treat ourselves badly when we are happy, or to be happy actually.
